Susie Carmichael

The kind and competitive neighbor who serves as the voice of reason against Angelica's bullying.

Susie Carmichael

Susanna Yvonne "Susie" Carmichael (voiced by Cree Summer) is the African-American daughter of Randy and Dr. Lucy Carmichael, and Tommy's neighbor. She has an older sister named Alisa and a younger sister named Buster. Her family buys a home on Tommy's street in the Season 1 episode "Meet the Carmichaels," and their mothers become close friends. Susie bonds very well with the babies, considering them her good friends. While she doesn't often get along with Angelica, she makes a conscious effort to be nice to her, serving as the voice of reason for Angelica's bullying and lies and generally being much kinder to the babies. Like her mother, Susie excels in various aspects of her life and has a very kind and warm attitude. Her only real character flaw is her competitiveness. In the original series, she is consistently 3 years old, but in the 2021 reboot, she is depicted as a baby around the same age as the other babies.

In Their Own Story

In "Meet the Carmichaels," the Carmichael family moves onto Tommy's street, and Susie quickly becomes a friend to the babies. She bonds with them despite the age gap, treating them as good friends rather than inferiors. When Angelica tries to bully or lie to the babies, Susie steps in as the voice of reason, calling out Angelica's behavior while still making an effort to be nice to her. Her competitiveness occasionally surfaces, but her warm attitude and kindness remain constant. In the 2021 reboot, Susie is younger—1–2 years old, the same age as Chuckie—and was born in 2019, shifting her dynamic within the group.
